Bhaktapur - Patan Sightseeing Tour in Nepal

Bhaktapur is a neighboring city of Kathmandu. Bhaktapur is also known as Bhadgaon. It is about 16 km away from Kathmandu; this city is especially famous for Newari culture, ritual and tradition. Anandev Dev founded this city during 12th century. Most of the people involved in farming and other engaged in traditional art business. It is typical newari town. There are four main squares: Dattatraya , Taumadhi, Pottery and Bhaktapur Durbar. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is listed by the UNESCO as the world heritage site. Nyatapol temple and bhairab temple are the best visiting places in bhaktapur. Special yogurt of bhaktapur, known as JUJU DHAU is very famous. You will definitely remember its taste throughout your life.

Patan is around 4 K.m. south of Kathmandu. It is also popularly known as Lalitpur district. It means (Lalitpur) the city of arts. It is beautiful city with various culturally rich places. Patan is always best and well known for its ability to conserve and preserve all the local cultures, traditions and wooden handicrafts. Patan Durbar Square is listed by UNESCO as the world heritage site. SiddhiNar Singh Malla Built the temple, which is one of the magnificent assets of the square. Bunglamukhi, (the golden temple) Mahaboudhha and Rudravarna Mahaviharas are the temples likely to be visited.

Trips details

Today early in the morning, we will pick you up at 8:00 a. m from the hotel and start sightseeing Bhaktapur- Patan city. After this you will visit wakupati Narayan and Dattatraya Square. This type of architecture is found only in Orangbad of India. This is the only one temple of Brahma, Bishnu and Shiva. The square has impressive wooden windows with 17th century old Pujari Math. Bhatkapur is famous for peacock windows. Siddhi laxmi and Bhairav are the two main temples in this city.

If you are interested in buying Nepali paper, wooden work, clay pots and many other souvenir items then we can take you to the small but crowd handicraft market. These classical items can be given to your dearest and nearest ones as the gift from Nepal.

Now we move towards another city Patan, it is about 8 km. away from Bhaktapur. Patan was taken as the capital city before 18th century. The architectures of Patan were built in the 17th century. But they were rebuilt after the massive destruction by the earthquake on 1934. Also, they were rebuilt in 1969 after Gorkhali invaded Patan.

Then we walk towards one of the oldest pagoda type temple of Patan- Kumbheshwor. This area is very large with 14 hectors of land. This ends day tour and then we will return back to hotel.
