Makalu Trekking is named after the 5th highest peak in the world. This route is blessed within incredible diversity of natural beauty and culture. We trek to north of the Arun river valley to Sedua and Nun, then across Barun La Pass (4,110 m ) for a closer views of Mount Makalu (8,463m) . The region has possessed 3128 species of flowering plants, including 25 of Nepal’s 30 varieties of rhododendron, 48 primroses, 47 orchids, 19 bamboos, 15 oaks, 86 fodder trees and 67 valuable aromatic and medicinal plants ranging from 1000 m tropical land to 4000 m alpine pastures. There are 315 species of butterflies, 43 species of reptiles, 16 species of amphibians, 78 species of fish, 440 species of birds, and 88 species of mammals have been record, including the endangered Clouded Leopard, Red Panda and Musk Deer inhabitance of the Makalu-Barun national park. 

Trekking in Makalu offers you varieties flora, fauna and nestled diverse of cultural and rich custom of different ethnic of Rai, Sherpa, Chhetri and Bhotia farmer. Though economically poor and isolated, they retain a rich cultural heritage. They hold the key to the preservation of the unique biological and cultural treasures of the Makalu and Barun area. Makalu Trekking is accessible Kathmandu to Tumlingtar by 40 munities scenic flight then heads up to the Makalu Base Camp for a close look at Makalu and Chamlang Himal.
