Despite high altitude, we generally survive easily. Many mountain views as well as Sagarmatha National park will have stolen tourist's soul. There are 118 species of birds and some mammals including mountain monal, blood pheasant, red-billed chough, yellow-billed chough, musk deer, snow leopard, himalayan black bear, red panda, Himalayan Thars, langur monkeys, martens and Himalayan wolves. Different vegetation is grown such as birch, juniper, blue pines, firs, bamboo and rhododendron in lower region and dwarf-sized vegetation in higher region. Day 02: Full-day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley and Trip preparations. O/Night at Hotel
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840 m), about 30 minutes by plane and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m/8,700ft), about 3/4 hour walk. O/ Night at Guest House.
Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m/11,280 ft), 6 hour walk. O/ Night at Guest House.
Day 05: A rest day in Namche Bazar. O/ Night at Guest House.

Flight delayed or cancelation:- In Nepal, Twin-otters are the primary means of transportation in the air for Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu. These flights sometimes can be delayed by few hours or even cancelled for one or many days because of poor visibility, bad weather or technical problems. The delay or cancelation of flights may occur even in fair weather. You must be aware of the bitter truth ‘always anticipate the sudden weather in the mountains’. Undoubtedly, We do our best to ease you by arranging another flight. Helicopter flights could be the alternative. Instead, Gorkha Adventure team will offer you different optional day-activities i.e. hiking, local cultural tours (Monastery sight-seeing) and so on of your choice on your buffer days either in Kathmandu or you can change your trail to Annapurna, Langtang or any other regions. Kindly, note that you will not get refunded on such cases and we will offer you the accommodations only before the starting of your trekking. In case, cancelation of your flights at the end of trip, you have to bear all your expenses in Lukla.

Can we stay overnight at EBC? What are the possibilities?
Yes, you can stay overnight at Everest Base Camp. We do have separate itinerary to make this happen. Staying overnight at base camp is recommended during spring season in the months of April and May while you get the chance to see and meet Everest climbers (mountaineers). And the base camp is colorful during this time. For other more adventures besides exploring the beautiful Everest region, try hike (trip) to Gokyo Lakes.
When is the best time for EBC trek?
Everest Base Camp trek is best to be done during the spring season i. e. the months; March, April and May. You will get to make out with many Everest expeditions (mountaineers) as it is the climbing season too. Weather seems to be quite fine at high altitudes. You will get with attractive blooming of rhododendron as well in the forests at lower hills. If you are really curious to get pleasure from viewing the ‘Everest Base Camp’, March-April is the suitable time to get on in this region.

What type of shoes and other trekking gears to buy for EBC trek?
You are kindly suggested to wear ankle support trekking shoes for EBC trek. However, it is not compulsorily to wear ankle support shoes unless you are carrying heavy loads. [All of your luggage (loads) will be carried by porter team.] Actually, you will be astonished to see the locals making their way up and down the hills.

What sorts of permits are required for EBC trek?
Basically TIMS card, Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and (If you are taking roadways from Kathmandu to Jiri, additional Gaurishankar Conservation Area Project permit) are required for Everest Base Camp. All these permits are prearranged by the respective agency. We focus on making your trip worthwhile.
What shall we do to travel in our own speed and desire?

Your travel insurance must cover the helicopter rescue up to 6000m altitude. It comes practical during medical emergencies and contingency situations. Travel insurance is mandatory before joining any trips. You need to get your travel insurance policy before joining Everest base camp trip too. It is optional to get it from your home country. In case, you haven’t bought travel insurance, we can help you to get one after arriving in Kathmandu.
What are the packs for Everest Base Camp hike?
Regarding the trekking gears and equipments; you need to have your own sleeping bag, sleeping mat (airbag), and trekking boots and down jacket which will be make your trip much pleasurable. You use the same during the trek. There are adequate materials available for sale and hire at stores in Kathmandu and at Everest region. Should one be physically sound for Everest Base Camp trekking?
For EBC trek, however the previous trekking experience is not mandatory; you need to be physically fit, strong and passion towards walking along the trails of high mountains. Every person has his or her own limit, but you need to prepare for your trek to give you an idea; getting involved in cardio exercises like swimming, cycling, short day hiking etc. In this way, your stamina along with confidence will increase gradually. That will eventually help you make the trip most worthwhile.
What about teahouses residence and crowd during high season?
You will see many travelers from all round the world especially at Everest region during the best season during spring and autumn. However, there are ample tea houses across the trail nowadays which can accommodate the travelers. At higher altitudes like at Lobuche and Gorakshep there is a few tea houses, where there might be a problem, but taking a sleeping bag along will allow to sleep at dining room also.
What meals are suitable to eat while walking on Everest Base Camp trip?
During EBC trek, we offer full board service of meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with tea or coffee. Along the EBC trail, mostly we find the vegetarian items on menu. Generally, common food items are Dal, Bhat and Tarkari (rice and lentil), soup, noodle, potato, apple pan cakes and other few items are available. And also, you are requested to let us know your dietary preferences for example; veg. or non-veg. Thus, we can arrange the meals as per your order.
How shall we prevent altitude sickness during Everest Base Camp adventure?
You will be drawn to do proper acclimatization, is the first and best way to prevent the altitude sickness. During the trekking you should never walk too quickly too high ignoring your body symptoms. Listen to your body, trek gradually enjoying the best of culture and nature while giving enough time for your body to adapt the changing atmosphere. Drink plenty of fluid and keep your body hydrated. If symptoms like headache, difficulty in breathing and other occurs then descend to lower altitude and taken to Tenjing Hillary hospital. If condition worsened you will be airlifted to hospital in Kathmandu.
How much is the withdrawal limits at ATMs in Kathmandu? How much should I carry during the trek?
Most of the ATMs accept international credit cards with withdrawal limit of NRS 35,000. You are requested to exchange your currencies while you are in Kathmandu. However, there are few ATM at Namche.
All day full meals, accommodations, transport and salary to the guides and porters, trekking permits are included in your trip cost. Therefore, if you carry maximum ? 10 per day would be enough for extra expenses like purifying water, charging your batteries, hot showers, donation to monasteries etc.
What should be done in case the scheduled flight from Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu gets delayed or cancelled?
The weather at Himalayas is definitely uncertain and unpredictable. Therefore, the possibility of fight delay and cancellation is high at Everest region. If it happens, you will be boarded on the flight tomorrow (next day). And you have to spend extra night at Lukla (if you are returning to Kathmandu) or in Kathmandu (if you are going Lukla). Helicopter rescue can also be made, that depends upon situation.
So, you would better have allocated a couple of extra days for Everest base camp trek, so that you will not miss your international flight back home.
Is there any alternative ways to the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla?
The most and best recommended way to reach Lukla for any Everest trek is to board a Kathmandu-Lukla 20 minutes scenic mountain flight. The next available option is to drive from Kathmandu to Jiri (9 hours’ drive) and trek for a week to reach Lukla. In present days, jeep riding from Kathmandu to Salleri (15 hours’ drive) and trekking of two days from Salleri reaches you to Lukla.
Is the variation of Everest base camp trek available? Is it customizing?
The most popular EBC trek in the world offers you quite a few variations. Depending on your fitness, time and interest, Everest Base Camp can be organized through a couple of routes. The days of consuming based on your experience. If one is high-altitude hiker can overcome in 12-14 days itinerary. If you are with kids/elderly relation, trip can be drawn out to 20 days.
