Lumba Sumba Pass Trekking in Kanchenjunga region  

Lumba Sumba pass Trek is one of the newly routes in Kanchenjung region. Here are some of the most spectacular Himalayan landscapes, This route is home to different ethnic groups like the Limbus, Sherpas, Rai, Gurung, Magars, Newars and Tamangs. The trek runs through Kanchenjunga Conservation Area (KCA) in the eastern Himalaya. Trekkers can explore the traditional farming practices and see different birds and wildlife species, including the endangered snow leopard and red panda, from the route. There are a number of high mountain lakes in Olangchung Gola. Through this route, we explore two of Nepal’s best preserved protected areas – the Kanchanjunga Conservation Area and the Makalu Barun National Park. Through the route, one can also trek to the base camps of Mt Kanchanjunga and Mt Makalu. Similarly, the Tamor and Arun River systems can be the other attraction for tourists. These two rivers are the major tributaries of the mighty Sapta Koshi River. The route encompasses alpine grass lands, rocky outcrops, dense temperate and sub-tropical forests, and low river valleys. Apart from natural beauty, trekkers can also explore cultural heritage like monasteries, chhortens, temples and prayer walls. And to add to the flavor, the festivals of all of these people living in harmony only serve to make the native culture livelier. 

Day to Day Trip  Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,350 m) Airport and Transfer to the Hotel. Overnight at Hotel

Day 02: Full days Sightseeing at World Heritage Sites and Trek Preparation. Overnight at Hotel

Day 03: Fly from (Kathmandu to Suketar, Taplejung) Abour  45 minutes. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 04: Trek to Pawa Village (lunch), then to Mitlung (909 m), 7 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 05: Trek to Siwa Bazaar (lunch), then to Chiruwa (1,246 m), 6 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 06: Trek to Tapethok (lunch), then to Lelep (1,687 m), 6 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 07: Trek to Gowatar (lunch), then to Ela Danda (2,051 m), 4.5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 08: Trek to Maguwa (lunch), then to Selep Kharka (2,525 m), 5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 09: Trek to Ramite (lunch), then to Olangchung Gola (3,208 m), 5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 10: Trek to Jadak (lunch), then to Upper Langmale (3,893 m), 5.5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 11: Trek to Tangchetar (lunch), then to Pass Camp (4,747 m), 5.5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 12: Trek to Lumba Sumba Peak (5,200 m), then to Chaurikharka (4,594 m), 4.5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 13: Trek to Thudam (3,500 m), 6.5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 14: Trek to Kharka (2,877 m), 5.5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 15: Trek to Chaurikharka (lunch), then to Chyamthang (2,229 m), 6 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 16: Trek to Gimber Village (1,585 m), then to Hatiya (1595 m), 6.5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 17: Trek to Gola (1,580 m), 5.5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 18: Trek to Hedanga Gadhi (1,800 m), 5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 19: Trek to Num Village (1,575 m). 5 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 20: Drive from Num to Tumlingtar (1,230 m), 6 hrs. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 21: Fly from (Tumlingtar to Kathmandu) About 45 minutes (1,350 m). Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 22: Final departure to International Airport, Then fly back to the Homeland.
