Day to day details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft).
Welcome to Nepal Trivhuvan International Airport, a representative of Gorkha Adventure will be there at Arrival get. Then you will transferred to your respective hotel and check in rooms, so that you can relax. In the afternoon you can even go for a walk around Thamel and later be prepared for the next day program.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Chemjhe (1430m/3908 ft), about 8-9 hours drive.
Start your journey for the annapurna region trek. Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar via Chemjhe early in the morning with a fresh and cold air. The drive offers different sorts of scenery such as greeneries, rivers, villages, farms and beautiful mountain, terrace etc. Besisahar is the Headquarter of Lamjung and first starting point of Annapurna Circuit Trek. Many trekkers used to stay in Besisahar few years back but after the development of modern roads the trekkers prefer to stay in Chemjhe rather than in Besisahar.

Day 03: Trek from Chemjhe to Dharapani (1,960m/6,430ft): 7 – 8 hours.
From Chemjhe, Today is your first day of walking in himalayas include Marshyangdi and follow the trail along the river bank. Then after a climb up through the forests past some waterfalls, we will find Chamje (1430m). Now gradually we enter Manang district after crossing the large bridge called Tal. From here to continuously walk along the rice fields until we pass through the Kodo village to Dharapani which is a really beautiful village. We will be staying overnight at Dharapani.

Day 04 Dharapani to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft): 5 – 6 hours.
On this day we will be walking on the trail from Bagarchap which will eventually lead us to Chame. The route is rough and rocky and also it’s prone to several landslides on the west. We climb over a ridge through Timang and continuous walk through forests of pine and fir to Kodo (2640 m). Chame [2,710m/8,891ft] is a beautiful place and also headquarters of Manang districts too. Before entering the village we find large Mani walls with many prayer wheels. We always must rotate temples, monastery in a clockwise direction. The place is a good viewpoint for observing Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal and Annapurna IV (7,525m/24,688ft) and overnight stay in a guesthouse.

Day 05: Chame to Upper Pisang (3,350m/11924ft): 5 – 6 hours.
We walk on steep and narrow paths which gradually go through deep and dense forests. When the trail reaches a bend, we can view first dramatic view of Paungda Danda rock faces and wonderfully curved slab of rock rising. The place has a great view of Annapurna II to the south and Pisang Peak (6091 m) to the north east. Then we go down to Hiunchuli and also Ngadi Chuli. Cross to the south bank of the Marshyangdi on suspension bridge at 3040 m to make a long climb over the ridge then slowly but surely we reach Pisang.

Day 06: Pisang to Ngawal (3660m/12008 ft) - Manang (3,500m/11,482ft), 7-8 hours.
Today we have a smooth walk, we start trekking as we pass through the Pisang and Hongde village where we can see airstrip of Manang. Then the path leads us to Ngawal and there we will get a superb view of mountains. Ngawal village is an old village influenced by the Tibetan culture, After lunch meal is finish, we move on towards Manang way. The trail gives us some of the most scenic view points as you get to witness magical views of the landscape all around Bharatang via Manang. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 07: Manang, Hike to Ice Lake (4,610 m/ 15125 ft): 6-7 hours.
Today we spend time in Manang to acclimatize to the higher elevation. We will hike to climb south of Manang 4965 m to see Gangapurna Lake and glacier headed toward Tare Kang which takes 4 hrs of strenuous walk. Alternate popular excursion can be done on Praken Gompa (3945 m) for a meditation retreat. It is situated high on the hillside above the Manang. Lama will bless our impending crossing of the Thorang La by tying a sacred threat around our neck. With the blessings we can view majestic Annapurna IV, Annapurna II, Gangapurna and Tare Kang. After visiting Praken Gompa, we descend to Manang and visit the 400 years old Karki Gompa. We have another most spectacular and toughest excursion that you can do on Ice Lake (Kicho Tso, 4600 m). It takes us around 4 hrs.

Day 08: Manang to Shirkharka (4,100m/ 14,353 ft) to Tilicho Base Camp (4140m/13,583ft): 4-5 hours.
From here on wards we descend to a chorten and turn toward northwest and head down towards the river. Soon we reach a bridge with height of 3560 m and below it, there is Jarsang Khola. We cross the Jarsang Khola on the suspension bridge, climb steeply onto a bridge and after few walks we reach the place where we can see views of Manang and Pisang. Then we continuously follow the power lines along the ridge on a wide trail, transverse along the south side of the ridge through blue pine forests and wheat field. After a short climb we reach Shirkharka (4,100m). It is a collection of traditional stone buildings surrounding by Khangshar village which in square shape.

After Lunch meal is finish, start the wark leads us to climb steep pass Gompa to a small chortens. Now we cross small streams and transverse to the isolated Thare Gompa (3939 m). After few walks we find a way to Yak Kharka. Further walks bring us closer to Tilicho peak hotel. From here we transverse into a side valley and climb steeply up to the other side to some herders’ hunts and a junction. Now with a walk of about 650 m with descend on screed to the Tilicho Base Camp hotel. Further lower the trail make us to walk a steep descend to a wooden bridge and climb to a ridge at 4230 m along with a short descend which leads us to streams and then across hard transverse a huge, steep and slope bring us to Tilicho Base Camp. Here we overstay on a guesthouse.

Day 09: Early morning , Visit Tilicho Lake (4,970m/16,138 ft) then back to Shirkharka (4,100m/ 14,353 ft): 5-6 hours.
After a well breakfast we do excursion of Tilicho Lake, walks with a long climb of 4,970 m. We can observe an outstanding view of Tarke Kang, Gangapurna, and black face of Kangsar Kang (7485 m), Manang and Upper Pisang. Our trail also leads us to series of steep and finally with a few hours of walk, we reach the Tilicho Lake (4970 m).Tilicho Lake is a beautiful lake, sometimes its turquoise water reflects the surrounding peaks. During the winter time lack sunlight transforms the cold waters into ice. There highest point here is Tilicho peak which is (7134 m). The glaciers terminate in a vertical wall of ice which is 70 m high that forms the west shore of the lake. There is no shelter near the lake. So after visiting the lake we head back to Shirkharka, overnight at a guest house.

Day 10: From Shirkharka to lader (4,250m/14,020ft): 4-5 hours.
The walk continues on meadow of animals, with often passing of Yaks & Deer, descending on through shrubs to Marshyangdi river which maybe 250m down. We cross the river and stream then short climb-up brings at Annapurna classical trail. The trail tends to go steady up to Yak Kharka where we stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 11: From Yak kharka to Thorang Phedi/High Camp (4420m/14501ft): 3-4 hours.
Our trek starts with an hour of gradual up through the shrubs to Ladder where you again refill water bottle. The level walk continues to Phedi where you stop for lunch. Then we climb a steep uphill to reach Hi Camp and overnight at lodge.

Day 12: Thorong Phedi to Thorong La pass (5416m/17764ft) to Muktinath (3,800/12,467ft): 8-9 hours.
Today is a tough day as our trek starts early in the morning because we have to go 600m up to Thorong La pass and 1600m down to Muktinath. Much of the trail is uphill and it’s going to be freezing cold up there. While going up you should stop for some moments to rest. We pass 2 teashops along the trek. It’s a hard trek today but also it’s going to be worth it as you witness superb views and an experience of a lifetime while going through this high pass. The summit is decorated by colorful Tibetan flags; you deserve to take beautiful photographs. Then we descend on a pave path to Muktinath. Now you can celebrate the success of getting over Thorong La Pass with your trekking friends and you will have an overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 13: Drive from Muktinath to Tatopani by jeep (1220m/3904 ft.) Overnight at Hotel.
On this day we drive from Muktinath through trail via Kali Gandaki valley to reach Marpha village. This town is famous for its Apple; don’t miss to eat Apple Pie and Apple Juice as you get there, Then after looking around the deepest gorge in the world "Kali Gandaki" .During the trail we will cross Thakali houses. From Lete Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains are visible on the way, transition of the landscape into a path full sub-tropical vegetation with the return of water buffalo, banyan trees and poinsettias. The trail follows the river through a narrow gorge, and descends to cross a bridge near a spectacular waterfall, before winding through the valley to Tatopani. The hot water Temprecture 46 degree celcious. Its known as hot springs village name. This hot spring provides the perfect opportunity for a good ‘scrub.

Day 14: Tatopani to Shikha (1935m/ 6348ft): 5-6 hours.
On this day we now head towards Shikha. Crossing the Kali Gandaki River we slowly climb steeply up the village of Sikha, which is inhabited by Magars and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 15: Shikha to Ghorepani (2750m/ 9022ft): 3-4 hours.
From Shikha continue walking on the stone steps all the way to Ghorepani. This portion of the trail is probably the most scenic during spring as the trail is filled with rhododendron blooms. Pause at intervals to stop for a breather and soak in the awe-inspiring views of Machapuchhre (Fishtail Peak) and Annapurna South. Get your permits checked at the entrance of Ghorepani. The literal translation of Ghorepani is ‘horse water’. This village was so named as it was once the watering hole for horses and mule packs travelling along the old trade route. The village has a large Magar population and an assortment of lodges and teahouses. Poon Hill lies right above Ghorepani. If you are not too tired you can take a quick hike to Poon Hill to enjoy a sunset view. Overnight in Ghorepani.

Day 16: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, about 6 hour.
Drive to Kathmandu by a comfortable tourist coach. Enjoy the scenic landscape as your bus winds along the Prithvi Highway. Once you reach Kathmandu check in at your hotel and take rest. At evening our company will organize a full Nepali traditional dinner in a delightful restaurant which truly will be an unforgettable moment.

Day17: Final Departure for your next destination/Homeland.
You will be transferred by a representative of Gorkha Adventure to the Trivhuwan International Airport for your onward destination at least three hours before the scheduled flight time.
