Mardi Himal Base Camp 4500m Trekking

Mardi Himal Trek is a popular adventurous trekking in Annapurna region of Nepal.  Mardi Himal tirp was found in 2012, and in just a couple of years, it got positive response from the trekkers around the globe. Walking in this route is like a mile-stone of life experience which has carries huge touristic potential. This splendid trek offers varied atmosphere, topography, culture and excellent views of Annapurna 8091 M, Annapurna II 7937 M, Annapurna III 7555 M, Annapurna IV 7525 M, Annapurna south 7219 M, Hiuchuli 6441 M, Machhapuchhre 6988 M etc. Himalayan ranges. It involves walking through rocky terrains and couple of base camps. Mardi Himal trek can be completed in around a week or two depending upon your interest, fitness and routes that you choose.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) Airport and Transfer to Hotel.

Day 02: Pre-Trip meeting and Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. 

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (840m),6 hrs.

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Kande and trek to Pitam deurali 2100 m.

Day 05: Trek from Pitam deurali to Low Camp Camp (2900m), 7 hrs.

Day 06: Trek from Low camp to High Camp (3580m), 6 hrs.

Day 07: Trek from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m), 5 hrs

Day 08: Trek from High Camp to Siding Village (1280m), 7 hrs.

Day 09: Drive from Sidhing Village to Pokhara (840m) by jeep- 2.5 hours .

Day 10: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, about 220 km-6 hrs.

Day 11: Final departure for your ownard destinations.

 

 

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival 1350 Meter.

Welcome in the lap of terrific mountains, Nepal. Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, Gorkha Adventure’s representatives greet you who would be waiting at the terminal holding our company’s Dislay Board with your name on it. Then you will be transferred to hotel on a private vehicle/ tourist Bus. The hotel staff will help you to check in with warm reception.  Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation.

After having breakfast, we go for a half day Kathmandu Sightseeing around UNESCO world heritage sites. At first we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, then towards Swoyambhunath Stupa followed by Pashupatinath temple and then Boudhanath Stupa. These religious and historical sites hold great importance offering exceptional insights into local culture, tradition and lifestyle. Later at the end of the day, short pre-trip discussion is organized with your trekking guide you can ask about your trip to your guide. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (840m).

We take a 6hrs long scenic and comfortable drive to Pokhara. Watching the beautiful green valleys, ridges, rivers, fields and settlements in between, we head ahead to Pokhara. We do have lunch stop in restaurant on the way. The valley of seven lakes, Pokhara welcomes us in the evening. We enjoy overall atmosphere, take stroll around lake side of Fewa lake or simply shop and hop into any nice restaurant, pubs etc. Overnight stay at hotel in Pokhara

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Kande and Trek to Pitam Deurali (2100m).

We have our morning breakfast at hotel in Pokhara and then take an hour drive towards Kande. Kande is the point of the trek. We start walking for a couple of hours to three, we head towards Pitam Deurali. Crossing the river over suspension bridges, witnessing monasteries and mainly the essence of local Gurungs traditions and cultures, having the distant views of snow capped Himalayas our trail continues to the end of today.  We stay overnight at local tea house at Pitam Deurali.

Day 05: Trek to Low camp (2990m).

We leave Pitam Deurali behind and hike for around five hours to reach Kokar Forest Camp. On our trail, we enjoy the magical forest walk. The cool shades of tree, much of greenery, chirping birds and after few hours of jungle walk, you arrive at forest camp, which offers  local teahouses. The trail continues through forest, but the route appears firmer than before, trees are smaller, shrubs starts to appear. The change in vegetation gives us feeling like we are gaining altitude and slowly get closer to alpine surroundings. Low camp is famous for epic sunrise views over Macchapuchre and Annapurna Himalayas. It is highly recommended to stop here over overnight to enjoy next morning’s sunrise views. We stay here in tea-house at Low camp.

Day 06: Trek to High Camp (3580m).

If you take proper rest and sleep, then the steep hills up which you have to cross today would not be that much tough. You will cross 3500 meters altitude; the challenge rocky barren and steep walk. Weather changes are common at higher altitudes. Get ready to see the best but also prepare for the worst weather situations. Our guide will ensure what to do, what to carry, where to go and where not to, before and during the trek. As we arrive at high camp, you start enjoying excellent Himalayan views. Day 07: Trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp (West) (4500m) and return high camp (3580m).

The most challenging day of this trek appears today, but it will also be significantly beautiful day of our Mardi Himal Trek. We approach the base camp making final ascent of this adventure. The views of snow capped mountains are enormous. Ice might be there at higher altitudes and trail may get slippery during the time.  The majestic view of Machhapuchre on the right and Annapurna base camp on the left remain mesmerising. In this way, after getting closer to Himalayan horizon, we return to high camp for overnight stay. There is also an option to trek down to low camp. Here instead of following the same route down, we recommend you to see different views, visit other beautiful places and meet different people.

Day 08: Trek to Sidhing (1850m).

Enjoying the magnificent surroundings around us to the fullest we trek down towards Sidhing. Himalayan views, forests, landscapes, terraced farmlands, and through local villages we descend down and down. We stay overnight at local tea house in Sidhing.

Day 09: Drive from Sidhing to Pokhara (840m).

Early in the morning, Drive from Sidhing to pokhara by jeep.

Day 10: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (220 Km) about 6 hour.

Today we take a drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at capital city, we organize the farewell dinner for you in a cultural restaurant. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 11: Final departure.

Enjoy and finished your Nepal trekking and tour, See you again for Nepal trip, Final departure for your ownard destination, Safely back to home.

Trail Information

The most preferred shorter holiday’s adventure with Mardi Himal Trekking begins from beautiful lake city of Pokhara. The first day of this trek is recommended to take a comfortable one hour’s drive towards Kande. It actually is the point of our trekking. The trail continues absorbing in excellent natural sites along with deep cultural insights. We walk through beautiful Gurung villages watching colourful rhododendron forests. During spring season, rhododendrons are fully bloomed and simply add another reason to join this trek.

Staying at forest camp then, at low camp and high camp in next successive days being offering exceptional sunrise and sunset views along with Machapuchare, Mardi Himal and other nearby snow capped Himalayas.  We finally reach the highest point of this trek at Mardi Himal Base Camp (West) elevated at 4500m. Further, we return down the routes back to Pokhara, and then drive to Kathmandu which completes this short and modest adventure trekking in Nepal.

Best season:

Best time in order to grab this unique adventurous experience of Mardi Himal Trek is during Late September, October, November. Early December, and during spring time of February, March and April, is second best season. Clear views of white Himalayas are seen in perfect temperature during these months.

Physical Fitness:

Moderate level of fitness with an ability to walk 4 – 6 hours a day for 6 – 7 days is recommended. Fitness and health conditions vary from in persons. Due to gradual increase in altitude, AMS is not common here. Even you can consult a local doctor about altitude that you are going to, so that you can make the trip most success.
